What's Up Wednesday!

What we're eating this week...

Monday--spaghetti & salad
Tuesday--leftover enchilada soup {recipe HERE}
Wednesday--Jason's Deli {Shelby's school was having a fundraiser there}
Thursday--hot dogs/Kraft mac & cheese/veggies {the girl's fave!!}
Friday--chicken tamale casserole {recipe HERE} Angela, thanks for sharing this one with us! It's in constant rotation around here!

What I'm reminiscing about...





It's hard to believe this time last year I was super pregnant & we were gearing up for our house-hunting trip to Las Vegas. This past year FLEW by!!! Derek & I were talking last night about how crazy it is that in just two more years we might be gearing up to do it all over again.

What I'm loving....

I took the kiddos up to Jason's Deli for dinner tonight for Shelby's school fundraiser, and Derek met us there on his way home from work. While we were eating, a lady walked over to our table to introduce herself to us. I recognized her as a Kindergarten parent from Shelby's school, but I'd never met her before. She saw Derek in uniform & came to tell us they were military, too! This may not seem like a huge deal, but this is the FIRST military family we have met in Summerlin since we moved here!!! I was so excited! Literally half of our neighborhood in San Antonio was military, so it's been so weird to us to live in a community with no military presence whatsoever. Anyhow, I'm LOVING that we finally have a military family to connect with!!!

 

What we've been up to....

Both girls woke up on Saturday morning with fevers, so we've been in sick mode around here. We stayed home all weekend to let the girls rest & recuperate while I was busy washing all of the towels and sheets and Lysoling everything so that the rest of us were spared! So far, so good!

{Hadley ended up randomly falling asleep THREE separate times on Friday afternoon, a sure sign that sickness was looming! Thankfully, both girls are almost back to 100%.}

What I'm dreading...

Me or Brady getting sick....germs, stay away!!

What I'm working on...

Getting swim lessons squared away for the girls!

What I'm excited about...

Derek started building a picnic table for us this past weekend for our backyard! I'm so excited about being able to eat lunches & dinners poolside this summer!

What I'm watching/reading....

We watched the HBO mini-series of Big Little Lies last week, and I totally loved it!!!

I recently finished The Nest & wasn't a huge fan, but I also finished Sally Hepworth's The Mother's Promise and LOVED it! Now I'm reading the newest book from Nicholas Sparks.

What I'm listening to...

We recently watched Moana for the first time, so the girls have been into that soundtrack,

What I'm wearing...



I'm currently wearing a maxi skirt, tee, and flip flops. Speaking of maxi skirts, I just ordered {THIS} one today in the piper red color. I love the Bobeau brand + it was on sale, so fingers crossed it fits well!

What I'm doing this weekend...

The big thing on our agenda for this weekend is getting our picnic table finished up--yay! A good friend of ours from med school is also coming into town this weekend, so Derek is hoping to get together with him at some point. Other than that, I'm not too sure what we'll be doing!

 



What I'm looking forward to next month...

Our trip to Tucson to see Bret & Jenny!!!! So excited!

What else is new...

Brady had his first ride in the Target shopping cart & he loved it!!! Yay!!

And Hadley had a field trip to Springs Preserve last week with Little Brother in tow! :)

And tomorrow is National Take Our Daughter and Sons to Work Day, and Shelby is super pumped to be accompanying Derek to the Allergy & Immunology Clinic tomorrow at Nellis!
