Summer Vacation 2019 {First Days in GA}

On June 12th, the kids and I flew from San Antonio to Atlanta to begin our summer adventure! This was my first time flying solo with the kids since Brady was no longer a lap child, so we had to split up a bit. Hadley, Brady, and I were on one row, and Shelby sat across the aisle from me. It worked out perfectly!

My sweet friend Angela's parents also live in Suwanee, so she braved a solo drive from Florida with her crew of four boys so we could see one another for the first time in two years! Angela posted this caption on Facebook, and I couldn't have said it any better myself:

We made a quick trip to Georgia to see our people while they were also visiting grandparents in Suwannee. It had been 2 years since we’d all seen each other but you would never know from watching the kiddos together. It was equal parts wonderful and sad because I’ll never get over not being able to do life together anymore. I am beyond thankful to have been at 2 duty stations with them, which is a miracle in Air Force life. Another miracle: when you meet someone in Mississippi but discover you’re from the same hometown, so at least we’ll always have Suwanee!

Angela & I also got to sneak out for an evening sans kiddos thanks to grandparents babysitting, and it was just so good for my soul. I'm immensely grateful for the time we had together, but it's never enough!

We also managed to squeeze in a quick picnic dinner & playtime at Suwanee Town Center with the Robbins girls before we headed out to the beach! Jenny and her girls just happened to be in town from Arizona visiting grandparents, and our trips overlapped! It was so fun to get to see these girlies!

And of course, lots of fun was had at Grammy & Grampy's house! My favorite moments from these trips are often the "in between" moments.

And then on June 15th, we loaded up the cars and we were beach-bound! Get ready for picture overload in the next few posts! :)
