On July 5th, we celebrated this guy's seventh birthday! How can he be seven?!
After 17 straight days of having Derek all to ourselves {thanks to our vacation + a long weekend for the Fourth of July}, Brady was devastated that Derek had to work on his birthday. So he insisted we all wake up early with Derek to squeeze a little birthday fun in before he had to leave for work. We had been itching to try a new doughnut shop in town that opened while we were on vacation, so we got to enjoy birthday doughnuts & presents all before 6:30am, ha!

We had to take Brady's new bike for a test drive, so off we all rode to the playground!
And waking up so early on your birthday {after two weeks of vacation & a Fourth of July car launch} means a nap is definitely in order!
After naps, we headed to playground #2 for the day!
And when Derek got home, he got right to work making Brady's birthday dinner request--pesto pasta!
And then it was finally time to cut into his Funfetti birthday cake!

Seven years with this boy in our lives has been such a gift! We couldn't possibly love him more!!
