First Trip on the Alaska Railroad!

Granddad & Grandma came to visit us in July, and we took our very first trip on the Alaska Railroad with them to visit Seward. It was so much fun!! The views from the train were amazing! The Alaska Railroad was high on Derek's Alaskan bucket list, so we were super happy to finally get to experience it together! We had eight hours in total on the train, so there was lots of napping & handwork happening to pass the time. The kids also loved walking from car to car on the train to explore...it felt very Polar Express-ish!

 

We had about six hours in total at Seward. While we were there we visited the Kenai Fjords National Park Visitor Center, the Alaska Sealife Center, walked along the water {we saw an otter swimming!!!!}, ate lunch at Red's Burgers {the coolest little food truck with picnic tables to dine al fresco or an old school bus with tables to eat inside..so fun!}, and stopped in gift shops galore.

It was a long but oh so memorable day! Thanks for the memories, Alaska Railroad!
