Well Sarah and I made it safely home last night from our 5 day trip to the Dominican Republic. Close friends of ours from my residency program got married on December 10th, so we took the opportunity to do a little more traveling. It was an amazing trip (as long as you can overlook the crazy drivers to and from the airport) and very relaxing. We stayed at one of the all-inclusive resorts, Paradisus Punta Cana, which was a first for us as well. We spent our days relaxing on the beach or by the pool and went to shows at night after dinner. The wedding was amazing as well. The ceremony itself was a a restaurant called the Jellyfish which had great decorations, amazing food, and lively entertainment. Checkout the pictures below for some highlights of our trip:
| Not our plane, but you get the idea that Punta Cana is not your typical airport |
| The terminal had no walls, but did have stray cats prowling for dropped french fries |
| The grounds of Paradisus Punta Cana...besides almost being killed by a falling coconut, it was very nice! |
| They had a lot of fun activities to do including archery! |
| Beautiful beaches with turquoise waters |
| What a nice place to relax |
| Beautiful decor at the wedding |
| Rich waiting for Talayeh |

| Talayeh walking down the aisle |

| Awesome reception! |
| With dancers and a guy on stilts |
| and an awesome wedding cake |
| and even fire dancing! |
Sarah and I had a great time in Punta Cana and Talayeh and Rich's wedding was amazing! It has been a crazy fall of traveling for Sarah and I with Pittsburgh in August, Germany/London in November, and now Punta Cana in December. We has a great time, and now I think we both are looking forward to just staying home and relaxing...until March!
We love and miss everyone,
Derek
