Since it's already the first of December, I figured I better hurry up and get our Thanksgiving post up! ;) Derek actually got 4 whole days off for Thanksgiving (Thursday-Sunday) this year, and it was truly delightful! He was working in Jackson during November of 2010 & November of 2011, so it was such a treat to not only have him in town this year but actually
at home with us! Since this was Derek's first Thanksgiving off during residency, we really wanted to spend the holiday in GA with our families. But since we'd only been home from our Europe trip less than 2 weeks before Thanksgiving, and we'd be hitting the road again 2 weeks after Thanksgiving we decided the best thing for us would be to stay put in Biloxi for Turkey Day. And we're
so glad we did. It was a wonderfully laid back, low stress holiday spent with dear friends! We had did a potluck Thanksgiving meal with 3 other families that live in our neighborhood (the hubbies/Daddies of these families are all residents with Derek at the hospital as well) at one of our friends' houses. Having such wonderful friends in the same season of life as we are is such a blessing to us! Here are the only pictures I managed to get from Thanksgiving Day....

Shelby was thankful for the cupcakes at our Thanksgiving feast, or I should say the cupcakes' frosting. ;) Her diet consisted of icing, rolls, one bite of cranberry sauce, & a few bites of turkey that Daddy managed to get her to eat. ;) |

One of the best parts about us staying home for Thanksgiving was that after Turkey Day had come and gone, we had three uninterrupted family days! It was wonderful! During those 3 days, we had the perfect mix of family time, productivity, & relaxation! We even got our house completely decorated for Christmas! Yay! :)

We are so thankful for such a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!
