Back to School!

Wednesday, September 9th was Shelby's first day back to school at Marvelously Made! This is Shelby's seond year at MM, and this year she is in the 4 year old group/PreK. Shelby will be going 3 days a week (Mon/Wed/Fri) from 8:45-11:45. The hours of her preschool were 9-12 last year, and as hard as it is for us to get out the door 15 minutes earlier in the mornings with Hadley still regularly sleeping in late..I am LOVING the earlier pick-up time! Those extra 15 minutes make all the difference in the world when you're trying to get two tired & hungry girls home in time for lunch & naps!

Here are our obligatory first day pics! :)

And just for fun, here is a little collage of all Shelby's first day pics so far! :)  Her first two years on the right were at Trinity in Biloxi, and the most recent two years at Marvelously Made are on the right.

First Day of School Pics 2012-2015

I know I mentioned it before in {THIS} post, but seriously we cannot get over how thankful we are that we didn't try to put Shelby into Kindergarten this year. It is such a blessing knowing she is right where she was meant to be! I cherished the opportunity to watch Shelby interacting with her friends & teachers at Open House last week and then again on her first day of school at drop-off. She had a great first day last year at MM and was warmly welcomed by her teachers & classmates, but this year? This year, Shelby walked in so confidently, her friends were running up to her and giving her the biggest bear hugs, and she was so excited to see the teachers she loves and knows so well. What a blessing it is to have your child in a school where she is known & loved! I get a lump in my throat just thinking about the possibility that we'll be moving this summer and taking Shelby away from MM. Of course, I know that there will be great schools where ever we may end up next, and I know that Shelby has been blessed with her Daddy's outgoing, fun-loving personality and can make a friend anywhere she goes! But I still dread the thought of taking her away from this precious school and her sweet little friends. I think these military moves are going to get exponentially harder as the girls get older.

On a much lighter note, at what age can I expect my kids to pose normally for a photo without it being a huge ordeal?!?! I mean, seriously! Here are our outtakes ;)

And we celebrated a successful first day of school with cake pops after lunch! :)

So thankful for a great first day & week of school for our big girl! We know she has an awesome year ahead of her at MM!! Now we're gearing up for the weekend & Grammy's arrival! :)  Happy Friday to you!!!
