Our big girl is under the weather, so we had a sick day in our house today. Sick days make for long days, but especially so with little ones! We did the exact opposite of what I blogged about yesterday and watched a Berenstain Bears DVD the girls had picked out from the library this week, and we also read LOTS of books and did some art.
For whatever reason, Hadley decided not to nap this afternoon and Shelby was only able to nap for about an hour before she woke up coughing. I knew my sanity was on the line, so I threw the girls in the jogging stroller after naptime to go for a run. The weather was gorgeous here this afternoon--sunny skies, 85 degrees, and a breeze! I knew the fresh air would do us all some good, and it certainly did! And there is nothing like a good afternoon run to keep me in good spirits for the sometimes difficult evening routine of dinner/bath/bedtime.
Today could have been one of "those" days, but thanks to my run, chatting with my mom during the girls' nap, and a good book...my sanity was saved! And having this to look at certainly helped my mood, too!! :)
Angela dropped by yesterday evening and surprised us with some spring treats. The girls got some fun goodies, and she gave me these gorgeous tulips & one of my favorite Yankee candles! It couldn't have come at a better time for us! We certainly appreciated the extra happiness in our day today! :)
