A Monsterific Week!

Whew, we made it through the first week of school!! We were all exhausted by the end of the week & behavior at home was sub-par to say the least, but we made it! And in true back-to-school form, Shelby woke up with a little cold this morning. Tis the season!!!

But we ended the first week back to school on a high note! Derek was in San Diego for a few days last week for an immunizations conference, but he got back late Thursday night and was able to stay home with us on Friday. And since Hadley is off on Fridays, we all went up to school to eat lunch with our big first grader!! There really is no place quite like an elementary school lunch room, ha!

Nicholas lives in our neighborhood & was in Shelby's class last year and again this year. He insisted upon sitting between the girls for lunch :)

Then shortly after we got home from lunch, I saw this pop up on my phone:

Shelby was selected as the first "Monster of the Week" for her class! One of the perks is bringing home the class monster for the weekend, so we tried to show him a good time!

 Quick trip to Red Rock Canyon!

 

The monster was lucky enough to be visiting on Pizza Night in our house & got to share in Shelby's favorite breadsticks from Papa John's!

Brady got in a little walking practice with the monster ;) 

And the monster even got to accompany Shelby to her very first piano lesson!

All three kiddos were in bed by 6:30pm tonight, Derek & I have done our usual Sunday night chores, and now we're about to indulge in {THESE} for dessert while Derek watches a little American Ninja Warrior. We're ready for Week #2!!
