Weekend Recap!

Shelby & I got to enjoy a three day weekend with Derek..yay! He had Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off, and it was just plain delightful. On Friday morning, we took a family trip to Kangarooz which is a local bounce house place. This was Derek's very first time going with us, and it was the first time Shelby has been since she started walking...so it was especially fun! I love that they have a designated toddler area there, which makes it much more enjoyable. Here are a few pictures from our morning there...sorry some of them are blurry :/

I know this is a terrible picture, but I had to include it b/c this was by far our favorite part of the morning. Derek and I would jump up & down on either side of Shelby inside the bounce house to bounce her all over the place..and she would just laugh & laugh! It was so fun!

It was a fun morning, but it wore all three of us out! Once we got home & fed Shelby her lunch, Derek & Shelby both napped while I went out to get my hair cut and run a few errands. That evening, we took a short walk around the neighborhood and then our friends Ben, Angela, & Adam stopped by for a bit. We got Shelby to bed soon after they left and then treated ourselves to some Outback To Go for dinner. :)

We had planned to take Shelby to the Marina Park on base on Saturday morning, but those plans got rained out. All three of us slept in until after 9, which is always a great way to start the day and then we just had a lazy morning at home. We had our babysitter come during naptime, so Derek & I could get out for a belated birthday celebration for him! I surprised him in his birthday card earlier this week by telling him we were going to play 9 holes of golf together. I am definitely not a golfer, so perhaps Mother Nature was trying to help me out?! So we decided to go grab Taco Bell for lunch and then going bowling together. Even though I lost three games in a row, it was a lot of fun! :)  Then later that evening, we went to the Lehman family's (our next-door neighbors) going away party. They are headed for Colorado at the end of the month, and we will be so sad to see them go. They have been wonderful neighbors & great friends! Derek had to go up to the hospital for a few hours after the party, so I enjoyed some quiet time at home. I got to watch a movie and got our 2009-2011 blog book ordered (this is my first time ordering a blog book..I can't wait to see what it looks like!) and also ordered some fabric swatches (the next project on our to-do list is making curtains for our living room). It was a productive & relaxing evening!

Sunday brought even more rain for us here on the Gulf Coast. We decided to get out and make a trip to the commissary despite the torrential downpours, and I'm so glad we did. Shelby was so happy to be out of the house--she was just clapping and talking up a storm the whole time we were grocery shopping. It was too funny! But the commissary was the extent of our exciting adventures yesterday..ha!

It is nice to just stay home every now and again, but we have some serious cabin fever setting in. A certain little girl is getting bored and restless at home (and so are the rest of us), so even though more rain is on tap for today (ugh!) Shelby & I are going to try to get out for a bit! Happy Monday, Everyone!
