Ever since we moved to Biloxi, visiting Beauvoir (the home of Jefferson Davis) has been on our list of things to see. I'm so glad we waited until now to go because we got to experience the inaugural "Christmas at Beauvoir." They had the grounds covered in lights for the holiday season, the house was decorated (we couldn't take pictures inside the house), they had crafts for the kids, train rides, carolers, & a 19th century Santa Claus. We went a couple weeks ago with our good friends the Goins, and it was such a fun way to ring in the holiday season together!

We got to Beauvoir just as the sun was setting, so Derek got some good pictures of the sunset.
We are convinced that the Gulf Coast has the most beautiful sunsets in the whole world! |
| Shelby was LOVING these lights that were right at her height :) |
| Beauvoir overlooks the ocean. |

Shelby is all about Santa Claus these days, but when she actually got face to face with him she wanted
nothing to do with him. ;) Here is Santa bribing her with a candy cane so we could get a picture of her in his lap. :) |
Here I am trying to convince Shelby this would be a great location for a photo op, and you can
tell what she thought of my idea. This is real life with a two year old, people. |

Another attempt at the photo with Daddy. The 2nd time around went a little smoother
b/c we opened the candy cane for her. ;) |
Watching the carolers. Shelby was fascinated by the caroling! After she initially tried to join them
on stage, she stood completely still and in awe of them for about 15 minutes. |
| Candy canes & carolers. What more could a girl want? |
| Mommy & Shelby getting ready to board the train..Shelby LOVED it! |
| She couldn't get on the train fast enough! |
| Ready to go! |
| Derek played the role of paparazzi for us and followed the train around for the ten minute ride snapping pics of us :) |
| Checking out the lights one more time on our way out of Beauvoir. |
I didn't know about this or we would have gone!
