Hadley's Newest Trick

Hadley just discovered clapping this week, and now she can do it on command. ;) There's nothing cuter than a baby clapping!

 

It's so weird to be able to tell Hadley to clap & see her actually do it. For so long, Derek has jokingly but affectionately (I promise!) called her "lump" (because she doesn't do much but lay there) or "doorstop" (we often use your carseat as a doorstop when we're unloading groceries b/c you like to watch us walk in and out the door). But the realization that we can tell you to do something & you'll do it makes us realize you're not just a lump or doorstop anymore! ;) You're turning into a real person! We mistakenly thought the novelty of watching your kids learn to do something might wear off a bit after the first child, but as it turns out it's just as amazingly wonderful the second time around! As silly and insignificant of a milestone this may seem to be, we are so very proud of you Hadley Mae!
