Hi everyone!
I'm in Landstuhl, Germany, for the next month while I work in the Trauma ICU. I'm settled in now and things are going well at the hospital. I had my first full day off here to recover from jetlag so I hopped on a train to the city of Trier which was about 2hrs away. It is oldest city in Germany and has quite a few Roman ruins to check out. Below are a few of the things that I saw!
| Porta Nigra- the Roman gate that guarded the city |
| If you notice, the door was placed on the second floor for safety reasons and they would throw out a rope ladder to guests. |
| Classic German architecture |
| Elaborate fountain....this guy got water from it and took it into his shop. I didn't eat there. |
| The Dom |
| Inside the Dom...pretty amazing |
| Random tree art that I found while hiking to the castle |
| Burg Nanstein is the local castle in the Landstuhl which is unfortunately in ruins |
| View from Burg Nanstein...not too shabby for a front yard |
I'll try to keep the blog updated with my adventures during my days off! If anyone needs to contact me, please email me as I don't have reliable phone access here!
Love and miss everyone!
