Things that Made Me Smile Today

Today wasn't the best of days, but it certainly wasn't the worst of days either. I just wasn't in a great mood all day. I'm stressed about auction stuff, incredibly tired (because I can't seem to make myself go to bed at a decent time when Derek isn't here), feeling overwhelmed about all that I have to get before next weekend (finishing all of the auction stuff, preparing Shelby to stay with family for 2 weeks, and preparing the house & myself to leave the country...ahh!, and Shelby woke up on the wrong side of the crib after her nap. But here are a few little things that brightened my day and put a smile on my face. :)  Sorry the pictures aren't great..they are from my phone.

Shelby's Thanksgiving shirt came in the mail...I love how it turned out!

Holy static, batman!

Singing "If You're Happy & You Know It" to coax Shelby into
smiling so we could get a decent picture to send to Daddy.

And the best part of our day hands-down was drop-off and pick-up from Mother's Morning Out today. Today was the first day where Shelby walked into her class on her own (as opposed to me passing her off to her teacher). And she was all smiles when I picked her up telling me over and over (and over) again: "Mommy, I made bat at school! I so proud of you!" :)

Her teacher told me she hovered over her until it was her turn to make her art project, and when she finished she kept asking to do it again. :)  And I love-love-love that every time I go to pick Shelby up from school they are finishing song/finger play time on the rug and Shelby is always sitting right up front next to the teacher so she doesn't miss a thing. Shelby-girl, we are so proud of you!

Now I am going to bed so I won't be so grumpy tomorrow and so Derek can't give me a hard time about staying up way too late yet again. ;)
